I got some great information from Narco, and I’m excited to learn more and hear more in the near future. Let’s get to know him a little more below!
What first got you into making music?
Honestly from as far back as I can remember I’ve been just playing music. Whether it was banging on pots and shit or whatever. It’s just always been a part of who I am.
Many of your songs touch on personal experiences and emotions. How do you use your music as a means of storytelling and self-expression?
It’s honestly the only place I feel like I can truly lose the filter. Sometimes life hands you shit that you just can’t burden other people with so I just put all of it on paper into a song. Sometimes it’s not even a song and it’s just a rant but it does its job of being an emotional outlet for sure.
How do you go about creating a new song? Do you start with lyrics or a melody, or does it vary depending on the song?
I’ve been playing instruments and writing guitar riffs and shit like that way before I started writing songs so I usually start with a barebones instrumental demo I make and then go from there. Lyrics and Melodys are the last thing I write in the process. Gotta make sure it fits the vibe
What advice would you give to aspiring musicians who are just starting out?
Honestly just put in your 10,000 hours and find your sound and identity. I spent so long going in circles trying to find that for me but now that I have it I feel like I’m at the top of the world.
What projects are you currently working on and what can we expect from you in the future?
I’m releasing my debut EP, “THE BLACKK TAPE VOL. 1 on May. 26th and then I have 2 more EPs coming out this year. I’m also going on a full US tour this summer so stay tuned for that.
How do you see the role of music evolving in society in the coming years, and what do you hope to contribute to that evolution?
I think the future of music is going to see the complete abandonment of genres of music. I think everything has its place in an instrument of expression. My favorite thing has always been to mix shit up in weird ways. I always think my end goal is to get Future or Drake on a metal track lol. That’s the big picture for sure.
Anything else you want the audience to know about you?
If there’s anything my audience needs to know is that I’m about to change the world and I’m inviting everyone to be along for the ride.
